Looking for a Culprit (cont.) PDF Print

Following up on the previous post, it appears that John McCain has found his culprit(s): Lax regulators! - in particular the head of the SEC. Does anyone seriously believe that changing a face or two in the government bureaucracy could fix things?? Or that one person or one regulatory agency is responsible for this?

On a more serious note, it is interesting that McCain does appear to be one of the last economic libertarians willing to show themselves. At least that is what he appears to mean when he says the Fed should get out of the rescue business and let the market do its thing. Nearly every other public figure has embraced the nationalization of major portions of the financial system.
