| Should Government Bail Out Detroit? |

As the government gets more and more involved in more and more private companies, the issue of the US automakers is front and center. While this, at first blush, would not appear a crucial issue for the clients and staff of a financial management company to ponder over, the ramifications of either a bailout or a collapse of the Big 3 would have very sweeping consequences that would likely affect the economy, and our investments, for many years. I have wrestled with this issue and have reluctantly gone into the anti-bailout camp. I would favor government support for PRIVATE investment into the auto industry, preferably by new entrepreneurs who might be able to build affordable cars Americans want. Any thoughts?
