Mary A. Malgoire is the founder and President of The Family Firm, Inc. (formerly Malgoire Drucker Inc.). Ms. Malgoire is responsible for the firm's overall investment and financial planning policies and is a member of every client's advisory team.
She has been providing on-going financial management services to clients since 1982, and is the Past President and Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), an industry association for Fee-Only™ planners. Ms. Malgoire has set herself apart in her profession as a staunch advocate for full and fair disclosure of the consumer's cost in the financial planning engagement.
She was legislative representative for NAPFA and in that capacity also served on the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) Financial Planner/Investment Advisor Committee, providing industry comment regarding proposed amendments to NASAA's Model Legislation. As regulatory representative, she provided testimony to the United States House of Representatives as well as to the Maryland State legislature on proposed legislation to regulate financial planners.
Prior to starting her own financial advisory firm in 1984, she worked at Bailard (formerly Bailard, Biehl & Kaiser, Inc.), a leading investment management firm in San Mateo, California and at SRI International (formerly Stanford Research Institute). Ms. Malgoire received a Bachelor's degree in 1972 from UCLA, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Santa Clara in 1981, and the Certified Financial Planner (CFPTM) credential in 1984. She is a NAPFA-registered financial advisor.
Ms. Malgoire has been named as one of the top 50 women in Wealth Management by Wealth Manager Magazine, and one of the best financial advisors in the country by Worth Magazine, Medical Economics Magazine and Mutual Funds Magazine. She is frequently sought out as an expert and quoted by the media, including Money Magazine, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal.

Nathan J. Gendelman is The Family Firm's Director of Investments. As such, Mr. Gendelman oversees the development and implementation of the firm's investment strategy and monitors worldwide economic, political and business events as they relate to investments.
Mr. Gendelman's diverse work experience includes actuarial assignments with CIGNA and the Ohio Casualty Group. While acquiring his MBA at George Washington University, he held a fellowship at the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Drexel University. Mr. Gendelman also spent two years in the Peace Corps as a math teacher in Tanzania. He is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Stacy Bakri is a financial advisor with The Family Firm and is responsible for personal financial planning services for clients.
Prior to joining The Family Firm, Stacy worked at Charles Schwab & Co. as an investment consultant. At Schwab, Stacy counseled clients on portfolio management and retirement planning issues. Before joining Schwab, she worked abroad for AMIDEAST, an international exchange organization, where she served as Country Director for the West Bank/Gaza offices.
Stacy is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations. She is a NAPFA-registered financial advisor and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional. Stacy lives in Maryland with her husband and two young children.

Kate Fries is a financial advisor with The Family Firm and is responsible for personal financial planning services for clients. She is a NAPFA-registered financial advisor and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional.
Prior to joining The Family Firm, Ms. Fries served as a financial planning coordinator at a fee-only financial planning firm in Birmingham, AL.
Ms. Fries holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Family Financial Planning from the University of Alabama, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Communications at the University of Texas. She is also a graduate of the Financial Planning Association's Residency Program.

Donald P. Lord is a financial advisor with The Family Firm and is responsible for personal financial planning services for clients. He is a NAPFA-registered financial advisor.
Mr. Lord pursued a profession in personal financial planning after a successful twenty-year career in the U.S. Air Force. There, he was a production superintendent managing more than 200 personnel in ten Air Force functional areas. Mr. Lord's prior experience includes working as a personal financial advisor for CUNA Mutual Life Insurance Company and American Express Financial Advisors.
Mr. Lord holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with honors from Hampton University in Virginia Mr. Lord is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional.

Wendy M. Weaver is a financial advisor with The Family Firm and is responsible for personal financial planning services for clients.
Prior to joining The Family Firm, Ms. Weaver was a Financial Consultant for Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., for 12 years, where she was responsible for portfolio management and financial guidance for affluent investors. Ms. Weaver is actively involved with several community groups, and lives with her husband and two daughters in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Wendy is a graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional.

Beaumont Brackeen is a paraplanner with the firm and is responsible for the delivery of client services. He completed an internship with The Family Firm in the summer of 2008 before coming on full-time.
Mr. Brackeen graduated with a Master's Degree in Human Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Consumer Financial Planning from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa in August of 2008. He recently passed the CFP exam.
Originally from Wilsonville, Alabama, Mr. Brackeen now resides in Arlington, Virginia.

Maria Camacho is primarily responsible for the day-to-day administration of client portfolios for The Family Firm. Such activities include setting up new accounts, asset transfers, trading, arranging client distributions and gifts to charity, as well as serving as liaison with institutional brokers and financial institutions. She also assists with financial planning activities for clients.
Ms. Camacho holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from the University of Maryland. She lives in Rockville, MD with her husband and two daughters.

Charles (Cam) Moore is a Paraplanner with the firm and is responsible for assisting the Financial Advisors in delivering excellent client services. Prior to joining The Family Firm he interned at USAA’s Financial Planning Services division.
Mr. Moore graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance with a concentration in Financial Planning.
Cam is originally from Chatham, Virginia and he now lives in Arlington, Virginia.

Rianka Urbina is a paraplanner with the firm and is responsible for the delivery of client services. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Urbina completed an internship with a fee-only financial planning firm in Reston, VA.
Ms. Urbina graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics with a concentration in Financial Planning and a Minor in Business from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in December 2009. She is currently studying for the CFP exam.
Originally from Norfolk, Virginia, Ms. Urbina now resides in Fairfax, Virginia.

Lorna Bradley is the Receptionist Administrative Assistant. She serves the firm’s client base with overall administrative support to the financial advisor team and assists with other areas of the daily internal operations at the firm.
Ms. Bradley, who began her financial services career in 1980, also has years of banking industry experience, having worked in retail, commercial and investment banking positions at a number of major banks in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Lorna attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington and has the following investment credentials; Securities Registrations Series 24, 7, 63 and Maryland Life and Health Insurance Licenses.

Kaia Evert is in charge of human resources and IT. She also oversees the administrative staff and the implementation of efficient practices across the firm.
Kaia comes to us from The American College of Cardiology where she worked as the Logistics Coordinator for the Annual Scientific Session, Exposition and Meeting Services department responsible for an Annual Meeting consisting of 27,000+ international attendees.
She brings a diverse background and extensive training in client services gained while holding supervisory positions with both F.A.O. Schwarz and AT&T Wireless, where she received public recognition for her excellence.

Christian Suliguin is the Portfolio and Systems Assistant. He supports the Portfolio Administrator and assists with back-office operations. He is responsible for routine system maintenance and support of the network infrastructure.
Prior to joining the firm, Chris worked as a contractor for the federal government in the areas of FEMA & Veterans Affairs.
Mr. Suliguin holds an Associates degree in Computer Science from University of Perpetual Help Rizal in the Philippines and is a Certified Computer Technician and Web Developer.
